Illinois employers now have a new comprehensive resource to assist them in the education and navigation of the massive federal overhaul of the nation’s health coverage system that will take place over the next decade.

A few weeks ago Commissioner Reyes brought to your attention his concern regarding the low participation with the Minority and Women Businesses Enterprises (MBE/WBE) in the County agencies’ bidding process. Commissioner Reyes was surprised to learn that the Forest Preserve District is not currently MBE/WBE compliant.

2010 CDBG-funded Facade Rebate Program

The 2010 CDBG-funded Facade Rebate Program application window is officially open. The City will accept applications until 4pm CST Fri July 30th, 2010.

City of Chicago On-Premise Sign Amnesty Program

The City of Chicago is offering an On-Premise Sign Amnesty Program, beginning on April 15, 2010, and running through October 15, 2010.

The program is an opportunity for voluntary compliance to avoid the possibility of future citations. Businesses benefit by having certain City fees waived.

CTA Service Changes Starting February 7, 2010

Beginning Sunday, February 7, service will run less frequently on 119 bus routes and seven of CTA’s eight rail lines, and hours of service will be reduced on 41 bus routes. These routes either will start service later, end service earlier or both. In addition, nine express bus routes that have corresponding local service will be eliminated.
